Steamboats

" Key West's harbor has long been famed for its commodious and sheltered water. Ocean-going steamships come up to the foot of  Duval Street, the 'longest street in the world' running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico."
"Twice weekly the S.S. Cuba of the P.&O.S.S. Company, makes the trip from Port Tampa to Havana, via Key West and return.  'Steamboat Day' witnesses joyous and exuberant reunions between friends and relatives who live in the sister republics, separated by only ninety miles of water."
The Governor Cobb Steamship
